Have You Heard Of The Hormone Called Oxytocin? Are Your Oxytocin Levels Healthy?

There’s a lot of talk about “smart” coffee and chocolate, or what we call “happy” coffee and “happy” chocolate and all the benefits of. But, the brand we carry is the only one to offer the full D.O.S.E. (promotes all four of the brains “happy” chemicals). The coffee does the D.S. and E. (which will be covered in a future post). But the O (or oxytocin) is promoted through the additional capsule called Xanthomax. And people seldom hear about this amazing capsule other than it’s part of the D.O.S.E. So, let’s dig into the Xanthomax and all the benefits of oxytocin.

First off, oxytocin is known as the “love” hormone. Were you aware of that? This hormone is being proven to have many psychological and physical benefits for men and women.

Oxytocin is produced in the hypothalamus, transferred to the pituitary gland, and then dispersed into the bloodstream. There are oxytocin receptors on cells throughout the body. There is generally higher levels of oxytocin during stressful and socially bonding experiences.

Some benefits of oxytocin:

Oxytocin creates bonds. Women with higher levels of oxytocin throughout their pregnancy and in the first month after birth generally have more intense bonds and closer relationships with their child.

Oxytocin relieves stress. During episodes of high stress, the stress is relieved as oxytocin levels increase.

Oxytocin helps with memory. Higher levels of oxytocin help solidify positive memories.

Oxytocin helps during pregnancy. Oxytocin helps intensify contractions that open the cervix and allow the baby to pass through the birth canal. It also helps discourage hemorrhaging. When breastfeeding, it promotes the letdown of milk into the nipples.

Oxytocin reduces drug cravings. The hormone inhibits tolerance to opiates, alcohol, and cocaine, and reduces withdrawal symptoms.

Oxytocin improves social skills. Oxytocin improved the ability for autistic individuals to interact with others. Studies indicate that those with autism have lower natural levels of oxytocin. Oxytocin also reduces fear of others in autistic individuals.

Oxytocin Has Healing Properties

Healthy levels of oxytocin could fend off clinical depression and anxiety illnesses. It’s been shown that some people with depression and anxiety disorders have low levels of oxytocin.

When oxytocin levels are stable and elevated, the physical body benefits just as much as the mind.

Oxytocin reduces levels of cortisol in the body and lowers blood pressure. Which in turn, lowers stress the body goes through. Which is amazing when you consider how much damage can be caused from stress or chronic stress. With lower stress levels, digestion also improves.

Oxytocin has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory qualities and can relieve pain caused by headaches, back aches, and inflammation.

The hormone may also play a role in metabolic functions and help with weight management. It may also promote healthy insulin use, aiding type 2 diabetics in controlling their weight and blood sugar levels.

Low Levels Of Oxytocin

There are instances where the body may not be able to produce enough on its own, and a supplement like Xanthomax may be helpful. These situations include, but are not limited to:

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) – Those with PTSD are in a constant state of anxiety and low-grade fear. This anxiety can climax when in trigger situations. It has been found that oxytocin reduces background anxiety in those with PTSD.

Childhood Trauma – Trauma during infancy or childhood could affect oxytocin levels for years to an entire lifetime. This kind of trauma can range from abuse to divorced parents. When trauma occurs during childhood, the body and mind engage an adaptive defense mechanism that reduces levels of oxytocin. This type of programming is a survival mechanism that could affect relationships and physical health.

Oxytocin Affects Digestion

The brain shares a unique connection with the gut, which is sometimes called our “second brain”. This is because the gastrointestinal tract is full of nerve cell networks. This network helps regulate behaviour, much like the central nervous system in the brain. The guts network is called the enteric nervous system.

For example, serotonin is the neurotransmitter that is responsible for a feeling of happiness and wellbeing, and is mostly (approximately 95%) made in the gut. Like serotonin, oxytocin influences what’s going on in the digestive system as much as it influences what’s going on in the brain. Oxytocin has been found to cool down gastrointestinal inflammation.

My Use

In the post ‘I Am That I Am: The Outcast’ I mention I suffer from a few depressive disorders and anxiety disorders. I have been using D.O.S.E. for a few months now, I started with just the Happy Coffee though before adding the Xanthomax (which promotes healthy levels of oxytocin). I have never felt better than on the full D.O.S.E.

I have tried other nootropics, and I’ve been on medications (that I stopped talking over a year or more ago). So all I’m using is the D.O.S.E. and I feel much better than anything else I’ve tried. If you’ve been following this blog and podcast, you are aware of different pieces of my story I’ve been dropping along the way. To have a combination of illnesses like I do, as severe as I do, and to see how much better I am by simply raising levels of my bodies natural chemicals, there’s no denying that the research into this hormone is accurate.

If you’ve read the post ‘I Am That I Am: The Physical Side’, you know I also have type 2 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and a few other physical issues that cause great pain. I can comfortably say that it is helping in that area too. My pain is still there, but not as often as it usually is or as bad when it does arrive.

I have high expectations that through continued use of the product, that I just may be able to feel normal mentally, and be normal physically (by which I mean no more migraines, back pains, and my diabetes cured). I’m not sure how long it will take to get to that point, but with the results I’ve experienced this far, I have no intention on stopping use of the Xanthomax.

Healthy Oxytocin Levels

To promote healthy levels of oxytocin, I highly recommend Xanthomax. It is the only product I know about on the market that naturally promotes oxytocin. It aids in your bodies natural production of its own oxytocin.

Most other products on the market are synthetic. You don’t want synthetics, because now you are dependent on a drug; not the hormone. Stay away from synthetics. You want to help your body produce and regulate its own, not be dependent on a different chemical altogether.

Though the Xanthomax alone does have many benefits, I recommend going for the complete D.O.S.E.
